Different Christians and Fake Christians

Different Christians and Fake Christians

Why are there so many denominations? Are Mormons Christians? Are Catholics Christians?

Overview

In any large group with a cause, there are traitors and fools. There are also those who are only partly committed to thhe cause and badly want to accomplish their own agendas at the same time. Let us take a large military force established with the purpose of overthrowing a cruel dictator as an example. It is certain that some of the dictator's followers have snuck in as spies. It is also a sure thing that there are selfish men who only seek to take advantage of the chaos to rape and plunder. Even many of the men who believe in the cause in general may fail to do their duty because of other desires—e.g., a man can forsake his post for sleep, or he may let an enemy go with important information because she is an attractive woman.

There are many groups of so-called Christians, some with clear leaders and strict rules for belonging, and others that only describe people with similar beliefs on certain topics. Among these, there are groups which preach evil doctrines but believe the truth on most matters and those that call themselves Christian but depart from virtually every important Christian belief (e.g., Mormons). The general consensus seems to determine which group is a denomination (denominations are relatively friendly to one another) and which is a cult or just not Christian.

As for which groups stick to the truth best, you will find that some churches which do not belong to a denomination are the most excellent. The Baptist, Calvary Chapel, and Penticostal denominations have lots of good members.
